Jesus is Here
The Five Truths About Jesus Every Child Should Know.
The strongest desire of the Christian parent’s heart is to communicate the love you feel for Jesus to your kids. You want your daughter to know who He is, Why He came to Earth and Why He isn’t just a nice teacher. Many parents leave the teaching job to Sunday school teachers, youth group leaders or a pastor, but make sure that you teach your daughter who you believe Jesus is. This job is too important to give to someone else. Here are five truths that every child MUST know about Jesus.
Jesus is Here (Part 3)
It is tempting in our faith walk to believe that Jesus is real but that He is Somewhere Else. He loves us and cares for us but because he is so grand and therefore busy, that he cannot possibly be involved in the everyday goings on of people like us. This is natural because the logic is, well, logical to the human mind. How can such a grand God attend to millions of voices, complaints and worries at once? Miraculously, that’s how.
To the young mind, miracles are tough to unwrap. But kids can understand feeling good and feelings bad. They can understand the difference between feeling dull, bored and disinterested and feeling more alive. That’s where John can make sense to kids. “In him was life and that life was the light of men.” Jesus brings life to the human heart and makes us feel more alive. Kids get that. And they understand the difference between dark and light. When light comes to us, we can see what we never saw before. Could it be that when we receive Jesus and by faith, accept that He is real, that we can now experience His presence? Yes. And kids can understand that too. We can know that Jesus is here by believing that his presence is possible. Then, he brings light for us to see what many cannot see.
The teen years are all about being egocentric. Many teens believe that they have an invisible audience who sees every pimple on their face, every muffin top protruding from their t-shirt. How comforting for these young minds to know that Jesus, the one who loves them all the time, who is ready to help them deal with every challenge, is indeed here, not “out there somewhere” watching them from so far away that all He see is a faint image of a human? No, every child must know that Jesus sees every hair follicle and hears every word they utter. Jesus is always here. DO Your kids know that?
