Fathers – Are you Ready??
As many of you know, several years ago I wrote Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters: Ten Secrets Every Father Should Know and it quickly became a national best-seller. Since then, I have heard from thousands of fathers who told me that for the first time in their lives, they understood how enormously they are needed in their daughters’ lives. And they also told me that they wanted to know specifically what they could do for their daughters. So, I got to work and I am excited to report that I am releasing a Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters: The 30 Day Challenge.
The 30 Day Challenge is just that. It is designed for fathers to read about 1- 1 ½ pages per day and then they are given a task to do for the day. Dads can read one of these challenges per day, or if they are really busy, read one per week. The purpose is to give fathers a “to do” list since so many have asked for it.
I am so proud of you men who have decided to live against the current teaching of our culture which tells you that you should step aside, live and let your kids live and just stay out of their way. You know this isn’t how you were meant to live and your kids know it too. They want you more than ever. And they need you to start wherever you are and really engage them. You are the most influential man in their lives and they need you to know that.
So, to all of you great men who read this, my hope for you is that you as you take this 30 day challenge, your life will never be the same. I believe that it will change your life and I also believe that it will change your children’s lives as well. How much better can life get than that?
This week, my friend Dave Ramsey will be highlighting this new book on his radio show. He and I will be discussing specific things that dads can do as part of the challenge, so be sure to listen. We are going to have a lot of fun. And- remember, if you have questions for me, we’ll be taking your calls, so give me a shout!

Hey, Meg – wonderful ideas! We can get the books here locally, I assume? I have a fantastic son-in-law I would love to get these books for.
I am refreshed today to read your article and challenge for fathers. I know and remember the song “Cats and the Cradle and the Silver Spoon” and how our actions and inaction can lead to painful and even disastrous consequences. I trust many will take what you are saying to heart. As this generation is waiting for REAL DADS.
::: Greetings Meg Meeker family team members (M&M er’s) Blessings to everyone. Dreamwriter, J.R. here. Dr. Meeker, as a Dad whose daughters are grown with their own families, I have learned that it is never too late to be a better Dad or a Parent. If I may share this Dad story with everyone… Once month we celebrate a Un-birthday. “Un-birthdays “ are something my daughters brought to my attention after reading a favorite book. Of course there is only one real Birthday… But the same real Birthday day, of the remaining months, well, they become Un-Birthdays. Un-Birthdays become another moment in time to share, learn, bond and experience that unique Son or Daughter. To this day we celebrate
Un-birthdays, a lunch, a card, a walk, phone call, text or Email, resulting in some very positive memories and moments… Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters: The 30-Day Challenge? Please, where do I sign up? Just a thought over, ” Coffee & Cookies “… :::
